So whenever implementing Windows Defender, make sure that the service endpoints documented here: -us/windows/security/threat-protection/windows-defender-antivirus/configure-network-connections-windows-defender-antivirus#allow-connections-to-the-windows-defender-antivirus-cloud-service can be accessed by the clients running Windows Defender and are not being blocked.
Finally I managed to get it working. In windows services panel, the windows media player network sharing service was disabled. I just set it to start automatically, then I could run the wifi connection setup successfuly. 2ff7e9595c
